هدف اصلی این مقاله بررسی تصادفی حرکت رول کشتی در امواج نامنظم است. برای دستیابی به این هدف معادله دیفرانسیل حرکت رول کشتی در امواج طولی با لحاظ میرایی و بازوی بازگرداننده غیرخطی ایجاد شده است. به دلیل ماهیت تصادفی امواج دریا، نیروی تحریک موج از طریق تحریک تصادفی نامنظم با استفاده از تئوری موج مؤثر تولید گردیده است. برای دستیابی به پاسخ حرکت رول کشتی، معادله دیفرانسیل تصادفی حرکت رول به شکل معادله دیفرانسیل تصادفی ایتو تبدیل شده است. معادله ایجاد شده به‌ دفعات با استفاده از روند مونت‌کارلو حل شده تا پاسخ حرکت رول به‌صورت آماری بررسی گردد. در انتها، تابع توزیع احتمال حرکت رول کشتی در امواج نامنظم برای کشتی کانتینربر C11، به‌عنوان کشتی نمونه، محاسبه شده است. با استفاده از این نتایج می‌توان تقریب بهتری از حداکثر زاویه حرکت رول کشتی در امواج نامنظم ارائه داد.
