از وضعیت مورفودینامیکی سواحل به منظور برآورد مقدماتی خطر ایجاد جریان شکافنده استفاده می­ شود که می­ توان از آن برای مدیریت سواحل استفاده نمود. جریان­ های شکافنده یک نوع رایج از چرخه­ های نزدیک ساحل هستند که می­ توانند تأثیر زیادی بر روی هر منطقه از ساحل گذاشته و سالانه منجر به غرق شدگی افراد زیادی در دریا شوند بنابراین پیش­ بینی این جریان ­ها به نجات جان انسان­ها کمک بسزایی می­ کند. در این پژوهش، برای ارزیابی خطر جریان شکافنده از مدل وضعیت ساحل (Ω-RTR)، در مجاورت آب­ های ساحلی بوشهر استفاده شده است. با بررسی مشخصه­ های امواج، پدیده­ های جزرومدی و رسوب در 16 ایستگاه استان بوشهر، یک ارزیابی اولیه از پتانسیل شکل­ گیری جریان شکافنده انجام گرفت. نتایج نشان می ­دهد که سواحل استان بوشهر عمدتاً جز سواحل موج چیره قرار دارند و با پیش روی از شمال به جنوب نوار ساحلی، حالت ساحل از فراپراکنا به پراکنا تغییر کرده و در ایستگاه­ های مرکزی و جنوبی استان بوشهر دارای احتمال گسترش جریان شکافنده بیشتری می ­باشند.
