طراحی و تحلیل پروانه نیمه‌ مغروق به علت مواجه شدن با پارامترهای هندسی و هیدرودینامیکی مختلف مانند پروفیل سطح مقطع پره، پدیده کاویتاسیون-هوادهی، اثر سطح آزاد و جریان چند فازی بسیار پیچیده است. برای طراحی و بهینه‌سازی سامانه‌ رانش پروانه نیمه‌مغروق، نیاز به حل‌گری است که بتواند با در نظر گرفتن کلیه پارامترهای هندسی و جریانی در مدت زمان کمی نتایجی با دقت مناسب ارائه دهد. در این مقاله تحلیل پروانه نیمه‌مغروق با استفاده از روش المان مرزی پرداخته شده است. دنباله موجود در پایین دست پروانه مدل‌سازی شده است و شرط مرزی سطح آزاد با استفاده از بسط تیلور و با در نظر گرفتن طول موج بلند استخراج شده است. نتایج به‌دست آمده در مقایسه با داده‌های تجربی نشان می‌دهد که روش المان مرزی قابلیت تحلیل پروانه نیمه مغروق را دارا بوده و با استفاده از نتایج عددی به‌دست آمده از این روش امکان تفکیک نواحی هوادهی اولیه، گذرا و ناحیه کاملاً هوادهی حین چرخش پروانه نیمه‌ مغروق امکان‌پذیر می‌باشد. در این مقاله اثر جریان عرضی روی نتایج محلی مورد بررسی قرار گرفته است. از مقایسه نتایج عملکردی پروانه با در نظر گرفتن جریان عرضی، کاهش خطاها در ضرایب پیشروی کم مشاهده می‌شود.
