دقت و قابلیت اطمینان دو معیار مهم در ارزیابی عملکرد ناوبری اینرسی با استفاده از سنسورهای ارزان قیمت محسوب می‌شود. افزایش دقت ناوبری بدون سنسورهای کمکی و با استفاده از سنسورهای ارزان‌قیمت میکرو الکترومکانیکی (MEMS)، همواره به‌عنوان مهم‌ترین چالش ناوبری اینرسی مطرح بوده است. بایاس عمده‌ترین دلیل افزایش خطا در این سنسورها است. همچنین وقوع عیب باعث شده که قابلت اطمینان این سنسورها در ناوبری اینرسی بدون سنسور کمکی کاهش یابد. چرخاندن سنسورها و استفاده از چندین سنسور، راهکار افزایش دقت و قابلیت اطمینان در ناوبری با سنسورهای MEMS است. در این مقاله با استفاده از سه واحد IMU که بر روی یک میز دوار یک درجه آزادی قرارگرفته، دقت ناوبری اینرسی افزایش داده‌شده است. با میانگین­گیری خروجی سه IMU، یک IMU مجازی تشکیل و پس از جبران چرخش ایجادشده بر روی آن، معادلات ناوبری حل‌شده است. در آخر نیز نتایج حاصل از تست‌های انجام‌شده بر روی میز دوار، بررسی و تحلیل‌شده است که نشان‌دهنده افزایش دقت 10 برابری در ناوبری اینرسی بدون استفاده از سنسورهای کمکی است.
