بررسی بیومیمتیکی و هیدرودینامیکی آبزیان به دلیل پیچیدگی­ موجود در هندسه بدن و نوع حرکت آبزیان، یکی از چالشی­ترین مباحث دینامیک سیالات محاسباتی در پژوهش­های اخیر در این زمینه بوده است. حرکت بدن آبزی و بالاخص بخش دُم از یک سو و حرکت سیال حول بدن آبزی از سوی دیگر، موجب ایجاد جریان ناپایا شده و تحلیل را پیچیده­تر کرده و نیازمند درک عمیقی از برهم­کنش سیال و بدن آبزی است. به همین منظور هدف این پژوهش، با استفاده از یک هندسه دوبعدی دقیق از بدن دلفین، شبیه سازی عددی هیدرودینامیک جریان اطراف بدن آبزی با درنظر داشتن شنای آبزی بوده و به طور خاص بررسی تغییرات ضرایب درگ و لیفت،  نحوه حرکت بدن و اثر آن بر میدان سرعت و فشار و نحوه تشکیل گردابه ها در بلافاصله نزدیک بدن دلفین انجام شده است. که نتایج حاکی از تاثیر قابل توجه فرکانس حرکت دلفین و طول متحرک دُم دلفین بر پارامترهای ذکر شده می­باشد.
